What is Circa Sports Million?

Circa Sports Million is a simple NFL picks contest. Each week participants will choose a side in five pro football games against the point spread. The Circa Sports Million doesn’t offer totals or moneylines for weekly selections.

Football betting lines are created by individual sportsbooks. A betting line will move based on how much money is wagered on the side. For the Circa Sports Million, though, point spreads are different. The contest spreads are “static lines” and won’t change once posted.

Every week of the NFL season Circa Sports will post the static lines at 10:00 am on Thursday. Contestants must submit weekly picks to Circa Sports by 3:00 pm each Saturday during the season. If picks aren’t submitted by the weekly deadline, zero points will be awarded for that week.

Circa Sports Million contestants can place picks in person at the Golden Gate or D Las Vegas casinos or by using a kiosk in either casino. The weekly picks can also be placed anywhere inside of Nevada using the Circa Sports mobile app.

The contest is won by accruing as many points as possible each quarter and for the full season. Contestants will earn one (1) point for each correct selection, one half (.5) point for each push, and zero (0) points for each incorrect selection.

Who can participate in Circa Sports Million?

Circa Sports Million is open to anyone 21 years of age from Nevada and the rest of the world. The entry fee is $1,000 and each person may have up to three (3) submissions. Circa Sports may disqualify a player that has more than three entries. Additionally, contest fees are not refundable unless Circa Sports cancels the contest.

Nevada residents can place picks in person at the Golden Gate or D Las Vegas casinos in person or by using a kiosk at either property. Nevada residents can also submit weekly picks anywhere inside of Nevada using the Circa Sports mobile app.

Out-of-state contestants may also participate in Circa Sports Million. Non-residents must sign up in person at the Golden Gate or D Las Vegas to participate. Once signed up, residents inside or outside of Nevada may use a proxy to submit the weekly picks.

Circa Sports Million official rules

Circa Sports is a Nevada-based sportsbook operator that came to Colorado in July 2020 in partnership with Century Casinos, Inc. with promises to take less hold and bigger bets than the competition as a book “where the pros play.”

The Circa Sports Colorado business model differs from most in that it does not shy away from taking action from big bettors and winners. While many sportsbook operators are quick to reduce limits on winning bettors, Circa Sports head Derek Stevens regularly tells media outlets that his approach to the business is to put customers first and to take action from anyone.

Now that Circa Sports Sportsbook is live in Colorado, we can evaluate those statements to see if they jive with the actual experience. Today’s Circa Sports review will take a close look at the betting odds, limits, welcome bonus, mobile app design and much more.

  • Visit Circa Sports online: co.circasports.com
  • Mobile apps available for: iOS and Android
  • Colorado licensing status: Approved
  • Can I bet on Colorado college games at Circa Sportsbook? Yes. Colorado law allows licensed sportsbooks to accept wagers on college games, including games that involve Colorado teams.
  • Who’s allowed to bet online with Circa Sports? Customers must be 21 or older to sign up for an account with Circa Sports and must be located within state lines in order to place bets.
  • Land-based casino partner: Century Casinos Inc., parent company of Century Casino Cripple Creek and Century Casino Central City

Circa Sports Colorado Bonus

Circa Sports Colorado does not yet offer a welcome bonus – nor any promotions for that matter. That is not particularly surprising, however, as Circa Sports is clearly more focused on providing longer term value by taking less commission than the competition.

Whether or not this is a tradeoff worth taking depends on the habits of each customer. Customers who plan to stick around for a while or who will become high volume bettors may actually find more value through lower commissions than they would have for a one-time bonus.

In this sense, Circa Sports operates on a model similar to that of SBK Sportsbook, which also competes on the basis of low margin holds. SBK Sportsbook therefore serves as a useful comparison point in the following section.

Circa Sports Odds Review

With no betting bonuses and a fairly bare-bones mobile app, we must take a close look at the odds offered and commission taken by Circa Sports to determine if it is worth forgoing the trappings of its well-funded competitors.

Below are comparisons of several betting markets offered by Circa Sports Colorado and three other sportsbooks. DraftKings and BetMGM both operate with much more marketing firepower and deep pockets while SBK operates in a similar vein as Circa with low commission being one of its big selling points.

As the following comparisons show, Circa Sports wasn’t particularly competitive in the soccer example but did offer the best odds for the MMA and baseball examples. As a result, we can say Circa Sportsbook is definitely worth a look for bettors in search of the best odds.

Soccer: Chelsea vs. Norwich City

MMA: Jared Gordon vs. Chris Fishgold

Korean Baseball: Hanwha Eagles vs. KT Wiz Suwon

Sports Covered and Types of Wagers Offered

Circa Sports focuses primarily on the major US pro and college sports but does cover international leagues and soccer to an extent. The number of wagers offered for any single event (market depth) is not as extensive as can be found elsewhere, but Circa Sports does offer some unique advantages in terms of the types of wagers it is willing to accept.

For instance, Circa Colorado is fond of yes/no futures such as whether or not each team in the NBA and NFL will win their respective championship and offers the rare ability to build parlays that include futures wagers. In many instances, Circa futures lead the market.

Circa also accepts larger wagers than most sportsbooks even while promising not to limit winners. As Circa Sports CEO Derek Stevens told local media at launch, the sportsbook accepts wagers as high as $5,000 to $10,000 on just about every sport. Customers typically begin with a $5,000 betting limit and can be increased from there to $10,000 once a relationship has been established.

In-play betting is also offered, but coverage of live events is not as comprehensive here as can be found elsewhere.

Currently, Circa Sportsbook accepts wagers on the following sports:

  • Football
  • Basketball
  • Hockey
  • Baseball
  • Soccer
  • Boxing
  • MMA
  • Tennis
  • Auto Racing
  • Golf
  • Olympics
  • Esports

Circa Sports Mobile App Review

The Circa Sports Colorado app is best described as “straight to business” with a simple design and few features. Whereas other apps from bigger brands come equipped with social features, live streaming video and handicapping tools, the Circa Sportsbook app simply provides the odds and takes bets.

That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but it’s definitely not an app we would recommend for bettors who like the extras. Circa Sports does not sell itself on bells and whistles; its main selling point is providing value through low commissions.

Circa Sportsbook

To be fair, the app is easy to use and navigate. The simple design makes it a simpler matter to browse the various sports leagues, compare the odds and place wagers. Users can easily create custom parlays, teasers and round robins by adding multiple bets to the betting slip and choosing an amount to wager.

iOS and Android users can visit co.circasports.com for links to download the official mobile app or to view the lines and place wagers without downloading anything at all.
